Our baby girl is getting big! Chloe's is growing so fast, and it's just so much fun to watch! She's smiles and coos all the time now, and we think she's just about to laugh at any moment! She's getting really good at bringing her fist to her mouth,as you can see (a little too good), and has actually found her thumb a couple of times.

She's sleeping through the night now. She's goes to bed around 8:30-9 o'clock, and then for the most part, doesn't wake up until about 4 or 5. That has been sooo nice! She's always been a really good sleeper, but it still wears you down getting up 2-3 times a night.

In a couple of posts ago I told you that the doctor wants to work with her and her look to her left more because she was greatly favoring her right side and it was starting to get flat. She was very stubborn about it, but its really not much of an issue anymore. She'll actually look from her right to her left on her own, which she never used to do before, and will look to her left for long periods of time before finding something new and more interesting to look at on the other side.

It was raining outside so we covered her up so she wouldn't get wet, but she managed to wiggle her feet out of the blanket. I just had to take a picture.

God had blessed us with such a sweet, beautiful, lovely baby girl. She's so good, and I just can't get enough of her. I know I did nothing to deserve this blessing, but I guess that's what makes God so awesome. He loves and cherishes us so much that he gave his only Son to be crucified on a cross all for us. I can't ever imagine doing something like that, and all he asks is that we love him and pursue a relationship with him in return. How amazing!?

First Trip to the Zoo

We took Chloe to the Kansas City Zoo for the first time on Saturday with Nahni and Uncle Dylan. It was such a beautiful day, a beautiful weekend really! Here are a few pictures. You can really tell that the animals are what we wanted to document...

Before we left...

Shots, shots, and more shots

Our little princess...

With a touch of tough guy

"You lookin' at me?"

Chloe had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and it was no fun at all. She got 4 shots and oral vaccine. She was fine for about a second after the nurse stuck her with the needle, then she cried like I've never seen her cry before. It wasn't like a really hard scream, it was the most horrible, "why are you letting them do this to me mom?" kind of cry. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. It was awful.
Chloe has had a hernia on her belly button for quite some time now, and yesterday Dr. Beck confirmed it and said it was a medium size hernia. Most hernias heal on their own, so that's what we're hoping happens in our case.
Dr. Beck was a little concerned about Chloe head. Whenever you lay her down or position her in any way, her head sort of naturally falls to her right. It's something I've noticed, but really didn't think anything of. Dr. Beck said that her neck muscles are probably stiff and need to be worked to relax them now before her head and ear really start to get flat on that side. So Kris and I have to be constantly making sure that her head is turned to left to try and loosen up those stiff muscles. She's pretty stubborn about it though, but Dr. Beck gave me some exercises to help work em out.
I forgot to mention a few things going on with Chloe in my last real update post. She's fits into most of her 0-3 months clothes now, her eyes are really turning more and more blue (she get's that from her daddy), she loves to take a bath now, she eats 4 oz. from a bottle, and she's only waking up about 2 two times at night. She's getting big! Oh! Duh Layna, I'm almost forgot. She weighed in at 10 lbs. 6.25 oz. and is 22 inches long! She really is getting big!

4th of July... Finally

Ok, here's our 4th of July Pictures...

I love the USA!

And a firework picture, just because

Kris and I got to have some alone time on the 4th. We dropped Chloe off at my mom's and went to see Transformers 2. After that, we picked her up and went to Kris' parents for some day time fireworks, then went home and put Chloe to bed and Daddy got to play with some night time fireworks. That was pretty much it. It was a good time.

Past couple weeks

Chloe is 7 weeks old now and it seems like she gets bigger every time I look at her (which is quite often), it's crazy!

She's smiling more and more, and is the happiest in the morning after we eat and get dressed.

She's cooing some now too. She'd probably do it a lot more if she could just figure it out completely. If you talk to her you can tell that she's trying so hard to get some kind of noise to come out of her mouth! It's so cute.
Chloe has decided that baths aren't so bad now. She actually seems to like them a lot.
The past couple nights she's been sleeping really well. She's only been waking up once in the middle of the night and then again in the early morning. We've also started to fall into a routine the last couple of days as well.

After her early morning feeding I usually bring into bed with me and we snuggle and sleep a little more. Kris took this picture before he left for work one morning because our sleep positions were practically identical. We both were so asleep we didn't even realize he took the picture, and the flash went off and everything.

Chloe loves to snuggle with her daddy at night before bed and more often than not they both end up falling asleep.

Chloe went to her first baseball game on Tuesday. It was my brother's game, and she had a great time cheering for her Uncle Bubba. We sadly couldn't stay for the whole thing because of her bed time, but we had lots of fun while we were there. Poor Nahni didn't have as much fun with us because she had to keep score.

"Yeah, Uncle Bubba!"

Chloe has her first big holiday coming up this weekend, so stay tuned for 4th of July pictures.
