Relax folks, we're not walking or anything. Today marks the day that Chloe Marie Savage will only be getting her pacifier at bed time. Bum Bum Buuuummm! We were going to do bed time and naps during the day, but she slept in this morning, so her routine got kinda out a whack. It was hard to tell whether she was actually tired and ready for a nap or she just wanted her binky, so we made the decision on the fly to try only giving it to her at bed time. The reason why is because she's become way too dependant on it. She's at the point where she can't sooth herself to back to sleep if she wakes up and it's not in her mouth. So I'm up 5 or 6 times in the middle of the night just to put it back in her mouth (so not cool). After a couple weeks of this, Kris and I made a parenting decision to start weaning her off the binky early. Our friends Dave and Marla are going out town so I won't have to watch Addie for about a week and we won't have to go anywhere or do anything, so we figured this is as good a time as any. We're starting, like I said, by giving it to her only at bed time which doesn't really solve my up-in-the-middle-of-the-night problem now, but it sets us up to take it away at night too. I think because she is so dependant on it, going cold turkey would just be a nightmare.
"What?! You're taking away my binky?!"
Chloe snuggling up to her new "comfort object", her lovey.
And after a breakdown and finally asleep (with a little bit of help from the swing)

3 Months
My baby girl turns 3 months old today at 11:42am! It's so hard to believe that 3 months ago Chloe was this tiny 5lbs 13oz little thing and now she got to be working on 12-13lbs big thing discovering new things everyday. She rolled over for the first time on Sunday! She also saw her fist and followed it for a few seconds the other day, she pushing up really well, she loves to talk to us, and she's gotten to the stage where they're sooo tired, but don't want to and won't go to sleep until they've completely exhausted themselves whining and crying (that's a whole lot of fun...). Oh, and she's discovered how to splash in the bath tub! She's really been loving taking a bath lately and when she discovered she can kick and splash, oh my she has so much fun! There's a video of it on Kris' facebook, as well as a video of the first time she rolled over on my mom's facebook if you'd like to see.
Kris and I are also having a blast watching her grow and learn and discover new things. We absolutely love being parents!
I took these pictures earlier today and liked them a lot, so I thought I'd share them with you.
