23 weeks

Well, I'm 23 weeks pregnant now and starting to get a little more uncomfortable. The muscles in my right side and back cramp up quite a bit, and the doctor says its due to them stretching out. I'm starting to see stretch marks on my belly... yeah... which feels like it's getting bigger and bigger with every passing day.
I've gained a total of 11 pounds so far which I'm excited to say that as of this week, 1 of those pounds is the baby! That's right, our baby girl is now one pound! She's also about 11 inches long head to toe! She's getting big...

Her sense of movement is well developed now and she can feel when I dance (which I don't do very often). I'm also feeling her move a lot and can even see her movement and kicks from the outside, which is kinda weird but cool at the same time. Actually, at my last doctors appointment she kicked the fetal monitor when the nurse was taking her heart beat (upper 140's). Her sense of hearing keeps developing more and more. She loves to listen to her daddy play the guitar!

The Duties of Daddy-to-be

Daddy put together the baby swing we got for Christmas from Grandma Karla and Grandpa Dale! Mommy put together the mobile part!

The finished product with the monkey as our "test baby"

Daddy also put together the crib!

The crib was given to us to by Papi's friend Michelle! Thank you Michelle!!!

And he helped mommy decorate it! Isn't that adorable?

Halfway Point

Yesterday marked my 20th week of pregnancy and since pregnancy is 40 week, I'm halfway there! Big milestone!
This week the baby is about the length of a banana from head to toe, so that means I'm getting bigger too! Of course not all of that is baby... I think I've finally hit my chocolate phase. I've been wanting it an awful lot lately, so we'll see if that translates on the scale at my next doctors appointment (which is on my birthday).

She's been moving a lot too. Today at church we sang the song Forever and I could feel the vibration from the bass on my chair and either she didn't like it or she was dancing because she was moving and kicking like crazy through the whole song! Kris got to feel her kick for the first time earlier this week. Her movements aren't quite strong enough for him to feel from the outside, but he was able to feel her kick, which was super exciting! Something else that was super exciting, and fun, was registering at Target! Picking out clothes and bedding and things for her made it just that much more real! Kris had fun too. He was in charge of the scanner... need I say more?
